Green Howards MI.png

A mounted infantryman from the Green Howards (The Princess of Yorkshire's Own) photographed in his field uniform possibly soon after returning home from the Anglo-Boer War.

He is equipped with two variations of the 1881 pattern leather bandolier. He is armed with what appears to be a Mk 1 Lee-Enfield rifle and bayonet.

The Green Howards provided men for the 2nd and 4th Mounted Infantry Battalions which saw active service towards the end of the Anglo-Boer War in 1902.
