The following two carte de visites appear to depict British officers outfitted for the Ashanti Campaign of 1873-74.

Both men wear uniforms of very similar pattern that conforms to the unique light tweed campaign dress adopted for the expedition. Both men also wear the newly adopted foreign service pattern helmets which had recently replaced the earlier "air pipe" pattern helmet.

Both photographs can be constructively compared to a similar cart de visite of Edric Gifford VC in this section of the website.
