Looking like someone's kindly old grandfather (it is quite possible that he was in fact) this elderly gentleman wears the medalic symbol of his service many years before in the great
Indian Mutiny of 1857-58. He appears to wear what may be a regimental badge on his lapel to complement his campaign medal. The badge is unfortunately somewhat overexposed so its
exact nature cannot quite be made out.
