Although bearing a long period inscription/caption I have been unable to positively identify either the actor or the theatrical performance that found his costumed as Napoleon
Bonaparte. The inscriber appears to have misspelled the characters name as "Nopolean". The actor's name may have been A. Miller and the performance's title "
White Flag". I have
not found a stage production by that name though an 1894 play by American dramatist Charles H. Hoyt titled
A Milk White Flag my be the one in question. At least one poster for this
play depicts the Emperor of France as a character. In any event this cabinet photograph depicts a fairly well realized recreation of the Little Corsican.
