Wearing a foreign service frock and "Austrian" pattern field cap, this sergeant appears to have been a member of a
fusilier regiment. Unfortunately the curved metal titles on his shoulder straps cannot be made out. An indistinct device
appears above his chevrons. While his son wears the ubiquitous sailor suit common for
a little boy of the era he does
sport a smaller version of his father's field cap.
