This very large format albumen photographic print depicting a corporal of the London Scottish Rifle Volunteers was take not long after the establishment of the unit by Lord Elcho in
1860. The corporal's spouse's dress dates this image to the early part of the 1860s. The thistle and wreath collar badges on the corporal's gray tunic identify the volunteer unit to which
he belonged.
