A fine, full-length portrait of a Royal Artillery lieutenant colonel. His identity is unknown. A couple of minor details are worth noting. While outfitted for mounted duties, he is not actually
wearing boots. Instead the lower portion of his trouser's legs are finished in leather and fashioned to mimic the tops of short, hussar-styled boots. His sabretache also appears to vary
from the norm in one small detail. Normally the design included a small scroll bearing the Royal Artillery's "Ubique" motto. This scroll device was fixed at the design's center, just below
the Royal Arms and above the wreath. This officer's sabretache lacks this motto bearing scroll.
