A fine example of a hand tinted carte de visite of an unidentified British lieutenant. Although the image was taken in
Scotland, this officer does not appear to have been a member of one of the traditionally Scottish or Highland regiments since
his uniform lacks any of the traditional Scottish accouterments. He wears an 1868 pattern officers tunic with green facings.
His sword is probably of the 1822 pattern.
