A mounted infantryman leading his mount in an image taken sometime around the time of the Anglo-Boer War. Based upon the location of where the this negative originated and the fact that this soldier wears sphinx collar badges it appears that he was a member of the Dorsetshire Regiment or possibly one of that regiment's volunteer battalions. This negative was one of several of a group of associated Dorsetshire images acquired at the same time and from the same source. Bottom: A positive of the glass negative.
