|A veteran saddler sergeant of the Army Service Corps with his wife and four daughters. Above his chevrons is his trade
badge in the shape of a horse's bridle.
He wears for medals the first of which is the 1877-79 South Africa Medal for service in the Anglo- Zulu War. The next
medal is the Egypt Medal with one bar. Next is what appears to be the Long Service & Good Conduct Medal and the
last being the Khedive's Star.
