An unidentified sergeant of the 48th Canadian Highlanders. . Members of the 48th saw service in South Africa during the Anglo-Boer War although the regiment itself never deployed overseas. Extensive service was performed during World War one and in Sicily and Italy during World War Two. The regiment still exists within the Canadian Army and most recently saw action in Afghanistan.
