Top: The glass plate negative of another unidentified Dorsetshire mounted infantryman. This soldier wears a plumed hat the type
of which became popular during the Anglo-Boer War. In the 1900 edition of
Dress Regulations this type of head wear was
described as a "Terai Hat".
