Soprano Zdenka Fassbender as Brünhilde. Of Czech ancestry, Fassbender was born in Munich on 12 December, 1879
and was a the long time mistress of conductor Felix Joseph Mottl. She married Felix Joseph Mottl while he was
hospitalized after suffering a heart attack while conducting his 100th performance of
Tristan in Munich 21 June,
1911. The two were married while Mottl was hospitalized and he died a few days later on July 2.
Zdenka Fassbender
died on 14 March, 1954.
