Appearing to be a member of the Royal Marine Artillery this veteran soldier proudly poses with his large family. He wears the China Medal for service in the Boxer Rebellion of 1900. Two of his sons seem to be following in father's footsteps and are either cadets or members of a military school. Their bandoleers are in fact filled with spent cartridge cases.
