We can assume that this lifeboatman had a successful career after he left military service based upon the number of
lifesaving medals he wears on his right breast. The two center medals are the Royal National Lifeboat Institution
Medal and the Royal Humane Society Medal. On his left breast he wears a single clasp Egypt Medal and the bronze
Khedive's Star. Based on his chosen profession it is possible that he earned his campaign medals while a member of
the Royal Navy.
