Dressed in abbreviated versions of the standard khaki Foreign Service Order uniforms and equipment, these two soldiers of an unidentified British regiment appear to be outfitted
for garrison or guard duty. Each wears a single 1888 pattern buff leather ammunition pouch on their Slade-Wallace pattern waist belts. The Foreign Service Helmet of the standing
soldier at left had the usual pagri as does that of the seated soldier at left although his helmet has a khaki helmet cover protecting it. Both are armed with a Long Lee rifle and
bayonet and the seated soldier bears one Long Service chevron on his left cuff.
