An unidentified Colour Sergeant with his wife and infant child. At first I thought this image might actually be a
"postmortem" Image taken after the death of the Sergeant's child. A practice very common during the period. But
on closer inspection one can clearly see the baby gripping the mother's thumb very tightly.

The sergeant's regiment is uncertain. His regimental distinctions on shoulder and collar are to blurred to make out
with any accuracy.
