Carefully groomed for his day at the photographer this trooper of the 14th "King's" Hussars wears  the Queen's
South Africa Medal with four clasps for his service in the Anglo-Boer War. Under high magnification his name can
almost be made out on the rim of the medal. The Austrian eagle collar badge of this regiment fell afoul of public
opinion during World War I and was replaced by something less Germanic.
