An unidentified private of the 66th (Berkshire) regiment of foot taken by the redoubtable J. F. Church of Curragh
Camp in Kildare, Ireland. The photo was taken sometime between 1868, when the regiment arrived in Ireland, and
1870 when the regiment shipped out to India. One of the main duties the 66th performed while in Ireland was
keeping order during elections.

The soldier seems to be wearing white drill stable jacket with the collar and cuffs in the regimental facing color.
