An early tinted image of a member of the London Scottish Rifle Volunteer Corps which was first raised in 1859. The image date from around 1865 and illustrates - with the help of the
hand tinting - some interesting details of the Corps uniform.  This includes the blue tape across the chest of the uniform coat and what appears to be double braiding on the coat's cuffs.
This cuff braiding appears to have been primarily white with a smaller accent of blue along one side of its larger white counterpart.
