A large mounted photograph depicting a trumpeter of the Imperial Yeomanry from the Anglo-Boer War period. The image lacks any information relating to the photographer or
location of his studio. Such information can sometimes help to determine what local Yeomanry unit a soldier may have belonged to.

Although his collar badges are too small to make out in detail, they appear to feature the Prince of Wales feathers plume device common to many Imperial Yeomanry units. No unit
titles are visible on his shoulder straps.

The trumpeter’s slouch hat is decorated with its own feather plume which the photographer has retouched to make it stand out better against the dark photographer’s backdrop.
