A classic 1860s vintage hand colored tintype photograph of a young member of an unknown Canadian militia
battalion. Note the heavy cord trousers worn by this soldier. Unfortunately the gold paint that was used to pick out
details of the young man's uniform obscured the regimental badge on his cap thus preventing positive identification
of his regiment or battalion. Regardless it is a superb example of a very early Canadian photograph.
